The Ministry of Finance has set the tone for 2025 to strengthen ecological protection and restoration

On December 23-24, 2024, the National Financial Work Conference was held in Beijing. Lan Foan, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Finance, made a work report. The meeting emphasized that in 2025, we should focus on the following work:

Support the construction of a modern industrial system. Efforts will be made to improve scientific and technological innovation capabilities and fully support key core technology research. Accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading, and deeply implement the policy of rewarding and subsidizing specialized, special and new small and medium-sized enterprises. Strengthen bailout support for enterprises, and resolutely prevent problems such as arbitrary fees, fines, and apportionments.

Support the construction of ecological civilization. Deepen the construction of horizontal ecological protection compensation mechanisms. Strengthen ecological protection and restoration, and continue to support the defense of blue sky, clear water and pure land. Steadily promote carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and promote green and low-carbon transformation in key industries.

Xu Hongcai, vice chairman of the Finance and Economic Committee of the National People's Congress and director of the Budget Working Committee of the Standing Committee, member of the party group of the Ministry of Finance, and specially invited department representatives attended the meeting. The relevant responsible comrades of the discipline inspection and supervision group stationed in the ministry, the directors of the finance departments (bureaus) of all provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government, cities with separate plans, and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, and the main responsible comrades of the Ministry of Finance's local supervision bureaus, departments and bureaus, and units under the ministry attended the meeting.
