On January 8, 2025, the People's Bank of China and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment jointly held a meeting to promote the construction of a beautiful China with green financial services. Zhu Hexin, member of the Party Committee and vice president of the People's Bank of China, and Zhao Yingmin, member of the party group and vice minister of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, attended the meeting and delivered speeches.

Zhu Hexin pointed out that in recent years, the financial sector has thoroughly implemented the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, continuously improved the green finance policy framework, improved the quality and efficiency of green financial services, and formed a relatively complete green financial system, providing strong support for the green and low-carbon development of the economy and society. At present, our country has entered a stage of high-quality development of accelerating greening and low-carbonization, which puts forward higher requirements for the development of green finance. Financial and related industry management departments should continue to improve the standard system, accelerate the formulation of a unified green finance support catalog and statistical system, and clarify the key directions of green finance. Financial institutions should strengthen the analysis and research of key green industries, actively explore and innovate, continuously enrich the spectrum of green financial products, take the initiative to connect with the list of key projects for the construction of a beautiful China, and provide financing and intelligence services in accordance with the principles of marketization and rule of law. All departments and units should jointly improve the sustainable development of green finance, coordinate the relationship between improving quality and expanding the total amount, and pay attention to the effectiveness of green finance in supporting the improvement of environmental benefits and industrial transformation and upgrading while promoting the steady growth of green finance.

Zhao Yingmin pointed out that our country's green finance has a good development momentum and has played an important role in supporting high-quality economic and social development and high-level protection of the ecological environment. The Party Central Committee and the State Council have made systematic arrangements to comprehensively promote the construction of a beautiful China, providing new opportunities and new requirements for the development of green finance. The ecological environment department should take the initiative to work with the financial sector to further deepen reform and innovation, and support the construction of a beautiful China with the high-quality development of green finance.

At the meeting, the policy interpretation of the "Opinions on Giving Play to the Role of Green Finance in Serving the Construction of a Beautiful China" was made, and the financing needs in key areas of the construction of a beautiful China were introduced. China Resource Recycling Group, Bank of China, Sichuan Branch of the People's Bank of China, and Zhejiang Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment made exchange speeches. China Development Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Construction Bank, Postal Savings Bank and Huaxia Bank signed financing docking agreements with 6 enterprises on the spot.
